Lea Weingarten built the Weingarten Art Group upon more than fifteen years’ experience of working with public and private art collections. An active member of Houston’s arts community, she has served multiple terms on the boards of the Contemporary Art Museum, Houston, the Glassell School Core Committee, the Prints and Drawings Acquisitions Committee of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and cofounded the Menil Collection’s popular Contemporaries collecting group at the personal request of Dominique de Menil. She is Vice Chair of the Menil Society Steering Committee for the Menil Collection and on the Civic Arts Committee for the Houston Arts Alliance. Lea holds a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Most recent public art programs led by The Weingarten Art Group have included Hermann Park’s Centennial Art in the Park, Discovery Green Art Program and Main Street Square Art Blocks.
